The Cell C Yonk’ Into Ihlangene Easter Tournament in Mamelodi East is set to stage one remaining semi final between No Fear and Galacticos at 10am. Dream Team has already qualified and will play the winner of this match at 3pm on Sunday 11 April. Ridane Laka High School is the venue that took a huge downpour and organisers had no option but to delay the tournament due to the waterlogged pitch.
Organiser Mlungisi "Lombi" Madaisela, an ex Sundowns legend is in seventh heaven as he is also the assisstant coach of newly crowned NFD playoff champions, Mpumalanga Black Aces, who have qualified to play for a second season in the PSL.
"I really appreciate what Cell C has done here - especially your marketing efforts. The weather forecast looks brighter and we are expecting a full house here", said Lombi
Further down in KZN, the Cell C Imbali Easter Tournament, situated just outside of Maritzburg is due to recommence on Sunday with a semi final between Nifa Stars and Young Splash starting at 10am on Sunday. The winner will play African Stars in the afternoon final. Tournament organiser and SAFA midlands president Dumisani Zaca, has promised for a great days festivities. " I want to remind you that ’Imbali’ translates into ’Flower’ and the Cell C logo is round and will be center stage - as in a flower.
Chelsea will play Chipolopolo in an eagerly awaited final in Botshabelo, Free State. Section S ground has seen some of the largest number of spectators in all of the 20 Cell C events - and no doubt there’s going to be loads of support. Spectators can expect loads of fun and prizes with the Nike/Cell C starter pack promotion - and a few celebs have vowed to also be there.
Also in the Free State the Cell C QwaQwa Easter tournament in Phuthaditjhaba, has unfortunately been delayed to next weekend - Sunday 18 April. Two of the semi finalists, Inner Senekal and Hurricanes, have qualified for this weekends SAB playoffs in Harrismith. Organisers Papadi have given the green light for the delay and has complimented the SAFA organisers for the quality of the teams in their tournament.
16 champions have being crowned in this years Cell C Easter tournament and by the end of this weekend another three would have being crowned champions of their respective tournaments.
